Theme, plugin or widget?

I cannot seem to figure out how I can allow my authors/editors the ability to upload a small .jpg of their face and then directly have that image attached to their profile so that every time they post on the page it displays their image in the top right or left hand corner of that specific post. IF anyone knows how to do this please help me out, thanks!
