Do you have “admin” access on the site? You should be able to see that in your profile.
I do have admin access on the site.
I’m using the login I was given with the WordPress website manual which was admin. However, how can I check that I have admin access in my profile?
You say it is a site for your work. I suspect that you do not have “ADMIN” level access. Did you build the site? Different access levels have different permissions.
Thanks for replying. I didn’t build the website, however I was given a manual which had the admin login.
I’m curious what different access levels have different permissions?
By default in WP there are the following user levels:
ADMINISTRATOR
EDITOR
AUTHOR
CONTRIBUTOR
SUBSCRIBER
Each one has certain permissions with Admin having full access to everything down to Subscriber having basically read only access. All levels can login through site.com/wp-admin. That doesn’t mean they have ADMIN rights.
By default only the Admin level can change themes.
There are plugins that can change and add different levels and permissions and your site administrator may or may not have used one of those. You need to contact the ADMIN for the site about your access level.
