• I recently tried to create my own theme for my WP blog, it looks great on my end but when I upload it, nothing happens. I get a blank white screen instead of my custom theme.

Could anyone help me figure this out?

  • what do you mean by ‘looks great on my end’?

How did you test it? You have a localhost dev setup?

no, i meant just on my computer… i dont have a localhost

i only started seeing the blank screen when i put it up on wp, i think its a problem with the php, but im not too sure.

I’m confused….how would you see it on your computer? The only way to do that is on a functioning wordpress.

The only way to do that on your computer is to set up a developmental WP install on a WAMP, MAMP, XAMPP type setup

If you weren’t testing on WP, I would have to think your php is bad, or you are missing integral parts of your theme.

    maybe this will help?

oh i wasnt looking at it as a functioning wp site, just as a template, so it probably is the php

Sounds like it….. I would look through the link I provided. Maybe also compare what you have to a functioning theme and see what’s going on in that code…. compare a bit
