Theme-My-Login -Registration not working

I am using WP 3.7.1 with TML 6.3.8. The plugin seems to work fine except for the registration. I do have a custom registration form with additional fields I added. When I register a “new user”, nothing happens on the backend. I don’t get the email to notify me a new user has registered and no new user is “pending”. AFter searching the forum for days, the only thing that sounded familiar was a php mailing issue; but if I manually enter in a new user, I instantly get the email notification that a new user has registered. I have all other plugins deactivated and still nothing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. I don’t know to check or whatelse to do. Also, in my users admin page, all the custom fields that existing users filled out when they registered are now gone (Company name, Address, etc..).
