Theme Conflict with CV

Looks like my the theme I am using does not play nice with CV. It spits out “Empty Settings” when I use it with my theme:

Works fine if I switch to twentyfifteen. Any ideas to make it work? I’d be keen to jump on the paid version (as I need some of those features) if I can get it working.
