  • You can modify a theme’s HTML/CSS/PHP any way you want. Just open the correct file and edit it.

However, the only recommended way to make modifications to a theme is via a Child Theme. It’s easy to do, so there’s no reason not to do it, really.

Once you have a child theme, you just create and/or edit the child theme’s files, rather than the parent theme’s ones.

    Thanks,

I guess I should have asked this too.

How can I add the reply comment box to the bottom of my main page while using colorway template?

^^ and have the comments stay on the main page?

I assume from what you say that your main page (front/home page?) is a page rather than a list of posts.

Depending on your dashboard settings, a comments box may or may not appear by default. If it doesn’t, simply edit the page. In the page editor (the page with the TinyMCE visual editor) click on the ‘Page Options’ tab at top right. Select the ‘Discussion’ check box. Now scroll down to below the visual editor and you should see an ‘Allow Comments’ check box. If it’s checked, the comments box should appear at the end of the page.

If the comments box doesn’t appear even when the allow comments box is checked, you probably need to check out the code of your front page template. If you compare the front page template with the normal Page template, you should be able to see what needs to be added in order to display comments.

I’m not familiar with this theme, so I don’t know offhand how it treats its front page.
