• (This is for Caroline Moore, the creator of the theme Buttercream.)

Hi Caroline! Great work on the theme Buttercream! I installed it yesterday but I think there might be trouble. I could no longer access my site (Manilagirl.org) and its Control Panel. When I access both, I’m greeted with the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/manilagi/public_html/wp-content/themes/buttercream/functions.php on line 210

I asked my friends to check what is on line 210 but apparently there is no line 210. I am now trying to access my control panel via my FTP client but I do hope you can help in fixing this little kink.

    Thanks!

    Sophia

  • Hmm, that’s strange. It looks as though the site is working for you now?

There’s nothing on line 210 of functions.php that would cause a syntax error, so I would deactivate all plugins and ensure you’re running the latest version of WordPress.

    Dear Caroline,

Many thanks for the prompt response. My friends helped me retrieve my site. Seems that my account has been compromised. I’m now taking the necessary steps to safeguard my account more even if I’m using the latest version of WordPress.

    Thanks again!

Yikes! Well I’m glad it wasn’t my theme but sorry your account was compromised. Hope you can get everything cleaned up.
