Can I ask you to change the HTMML tab from text to visual and try again:

While we are checking the roots of the issue, you can use this shortcode:

[sg_popup id="popupID" event="click"]Click[/sg_popup]

Thus, you can achieve the desired result because that button is responsible for managing the popups with the shortcodes.
