    Hello Shieldpro…

Many moons back, you tried to introduce a box interface; it wasn’t popular, and you binned it.

I logged in two weeks ago and did some bits with the old interface, no worries.
Today, I got a report this morning of something critical going on and immediately got blocked when I clicked the link.
I then logged into my site, and again my IP got blocked, but this time it was critical.
It got jammed up so much so, that I had to use my FTP program to sort it out.

Moving on, logged in — gasp! — What the flipping heck is going on with this WP plugin?
I can’t use it. I can’t find the options I need, and I can’t find out how to whitelist an IP (mine)

Please, please, please can you reintroduce the old menu layout?

    Yes, paid subscriber.
No, I can’t even find your support page anymore.
(I just kept going round in menu-page circles after I logged in.)

Using this medium to report my issues, which isn’t a good look, Paul.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for sharing this with us, it genuinely matters, and we’re truly sorry you’re feeling this way. Please know that we take feedback like this seriously, and it’s been noted internally to help us keep improving.

Whenever we release a major update, especially one that changes the UI like the latest major release, we also put together an upgrade guide to help make the transition smoother. Alongside that, we’ve created a short walkthrough video covering the updated areas, to help things feel more familiar, here it is in case you missed it:
    https://player.vimeo.com/video/1184125216

We also have a full Knowledge Base covering everything, from setting explanations to step by step guides for every part of Shield, so it’s always worth a search there if you’re looking for something specific.

For whitelisting your own IP, that’s found under Investigate > Bots & IP Rules page, and here’s the guide for that (under “How to add IP to the bypass/whitelist” section).

When it comes to the blocking itself, checking your WP Activity Log is always the best first step, since it shows exactly what triggered the block and why, which makes it much easier to prevent it happening again. It’s worth taking a closer look there, since something likely changed recently, whether on the site, the network, or during a recent update. If Shield is blocking something, the activity log should help you pinpoint exactly what triggered it.

If you need any help reading through the activity logs, or with anything else, please feel free to reach out to us directly. There’s a help widget with a contact form built right into Shield plugin admin area, and the same form is available on our website too. I’m sharing a guide showing every way to reach us:

Thanks and looking forward to providing help whenever you need it.

Cheers, but making it this hard to use is going to cost you users.

    Many thanks, topic closed.
