• Update left me with a 404 when trying to access my admin dashboard, effectively locking me out of my own site. As soon as I figure out what to do about this (rather major) problem, I don’t believe I’ll ever use this plugin again. This is beyond unacceptable.

    We’re sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had with the 4.0 update. Most settings from Better WP Security transferred to iThemes Security 4.0 except for the Hide Backend Setting, so your admin URL defaulted back to /wp-admin. After logging in from there, you can resave your custom login URL in the Hide Login Area setting.

    Last straws – Some settings show that they’re enabled, but they don’t actually work when testing them. Also, I changed the login slug and while the url I created does work, so does /wp-login! It’s not obscuring it at all. Makes no sense.

    Enough is enough. I deleted this plugin and installed All in One. So far, so good.
