Text Editor – Bold & Italic not working

    Wordpress v4.7, Elementor v 1.04. Text editor widget displays html-formatted text in the text editing box (including Bold & Italic), but the resulting column text is not formatted. I have tried deactivating all other plugins, to no effect. What am I doing wrong?

    @sandigoldring –

    Have you tried switching to one of the WP default themes, such as 2016 or 2017?

    I just tried using WP 4.7 and Elementor 1.0.4 with both the 2016 and the GeneratePress themes and both bold and italic work as expected.

    Thanks for your response. Yes, it’s definitely the theme (BlankSlate). I managed a bit of custom CSS to override.
