/test/ in the link – remove or change

Im using Yast SEO which can override some url settings thus my link can be generated:
1. http://www.mywebsite.com/my-awesome-testThis is as it should be BUT this plugin generated its own unique link with /test/ part. Unfortunately in this situation i will have duplicated links:
1. http://www.mywebsite.com/my-awesome-test
2. http://www.mywebsite.com/test/my-awesome-testYes i can disallow in robots or some redirect in httaccess but this is very counter intuitive. And i can bet that 99% of people using this plugin did not even notice this (or don’t understand the importance). This is SEO and Google can (and will) penalise for duplicated content.
Can this /test/ be completely removed from the plugin url settings?
