    Hello,

I am currently working on my site and would like to redirect to a different domain while I am working on the site (due to issues outside of my control I am unable to have a maintenance page). I would like all users who visit http://www.mysite.com to be automatically redirected to http://www.myothersite.com. They are hosted on two separate servers.

I have tried searching the forums and all of the solutions seem to require permanant redirects. We do not have any SEO “juice” built up on http://www.mysite.com so I am not concerned with losing rankings.

If someone could point me in the direction of a tutorial or even let me know where I should start looking I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sean

  • The easiest way would be to change the dns of the domain; eg, your domain currently points to the dns servers on host a. Change the domain to point to the dns servers of host b. If you don’t know how to do it, call your domain registrar and they can help. You’ll need the dns servers (there are two) of the new host.

It’s possible that your domain is configure to point to an IP address in an a record. In that case, you’ll need the ip address of the new host.
