Templates and Columns.css

File Gallery has been very useful to me in customizing gallery output, but there are a couple snags:

First, columns.css in the plugin’s template directory imposes strict style rules. I’ve had to solve the problem by directly modifying the stylesheet. Is there a way to bypass or override it?

Second, the templates don’t appear to function correctly. I’ve gone so far as to actually DELETE the template subdirectories (file-gallery, list, and simple); nevertheless, they appear on the Editor dropdown. Additionally, I’ve had to directly modify the contents of the default template to override it. Is this normal?
