• Hi there,

I have a issue thats driving me nuts!

I’ve created 2 custom post types (showroom and auction). For those post types I’ve created template files. For each post type I’ve created pages calling those templates.

The template files are to show the post types in a grid format using a thumbnail. Much like a portfolio site.

Both files are exactly the same and while the auction page works fine, the showroom page will not call the template file when the ‘post name’ permalink setting is used. It will however call it on all other permalink options!

When I do choose the ‘post name’ option (the one I want to use), the showroom page displays the standard “Archives” template, not mine. Meanwhile the auction page has no issues. I even used the Showroom template for the Auctions template…

Has anyone else had this problem?
Is it some cache issue? (I’ve tried various browsers and cleared their cache etc)

I can post code, I’m running it locally so just ask what you’d like to see if you need it.

Many thanks in advance, any help will stop me going mad!

I can get it to work if I create is archive-showroom.php and copy my template file content into it. But still doesn’t explain the odd behaviour in my last post.

    Any ideas?
