    Hello,
I need to create a donation form for a non-profit organization. I need to offer two types of donations:

    • A simplified version where the user makes a single payment
    • A version where the user can choose to make recurring donations and generate a tax receipt.

I was thinking of using WPForms and modifying the invoice template, but I don’t know if that’s possible.

    What do you think?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi @boisseauchris,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Great news — WPForms can definitely handle what you’re describing.

We have a step-by-step guide for setting up a nonprofit donation form. It covers both single payments and recurring donations, so it should address both scenarios you mentioned.

For payment processing, here are your two main options:

    • WPForms Lite (free): You can accept credit card payments via Stripe LiteSquare Lite, or PayPal Commerce Lite. Keep in mind that a 3% transaction fee applies on top of the standard gateway charges when using these with WPForms Lite.
    • Nonprofit license (discounted): WPForms offers two nonprofit-specific licenses at special pricing. You can learn more and submit an application here: WordPress Forms for Nonprofit Organizations. Our team will review it and get back to you.

Regarding tax receipts, you can configure notifications for this. Or, if you use Stripe Lite, you choose the Email field from your form under Stripe Payment Receipt; and Stripe will send the payment receipt to this email address.

Hope that helps point you in the right direction! Feel free to reply if you have any follow-up questions.

    Thanks!

    Hi @boisseauchris,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
