Oh ok, there are 8500 records, but still, way toooo long.

One of two things is going on here:
1. Maybe, that’s actually how long it takes. Maybe your server is slow, maybe your database has tons of data in it, etc.
2. Something else is slowing down the import process. Are you downloading images from a slow server? Do you have some other plugins installed that might make calls to external web services whenever posts are updated?
I dont think it is any of those…
My host added 8Gb Memory, and several extra CPUs and still no change in speed.
Have tried CSV Importer and the updates fly, well still taking long but several hours rather than 18 hours.
There is another guy on Codecanyon claiming his update to Price and Stock for 8500 records would take seconds.
Love your plugin, but it is just taking waaaayyyy tooo long.
How long does it take you to update 8500 records for two fields?

18 hours is really unreasonable. One or two hours is much more reasonable. If you try at http://www.wpallimport.com/debug how long does it take?
If CSV Importer still takes several hours to do 8500 records it’s almost definitely your server. That plugin doesn’t have a bunch of the stuff WP All Import does that slows down imports.
However, it all depends on the server, number of products in your database, and server configuration settings.
Price and stock update could take seconds if done with a SQL query directly. I doubt it would be seconds for 8500 records, but minutes seems reasonable. That could be probably a better solution for you.
Thanks I wish I had know about that ability before. I have had to move on.
Thanks again, like I said really like the Plugin. Nice work.
Since the last wordpress update, it is very very long now 🙁

Nothing in WordPress or WP All Import has slowed down in any recent updates.
Something else on your server (or on the server hosting your XML/CSV file and/or your images) has changed.
