    tahnk you, in fact i have been using categories over tags, but was wondering if the opposite was true, from an SEO standpoint… cheers,

    It depends entirely on how your site is structured. For example, I use categories as broad areas like WordPress, Life, and Science. So, I might categorize a post as WordPress but tag it as WordPress Tutorials, WordPress Discussion, and so on.

    I really hate this phrase though:

    It should be “from a reader standpoint”. Think about how your site is structured. How will your categories/tags best help your readers? Your theme should also put focus on these according to what would help you best.

    I’ll agree with iridiax on categories with category descriptions though.
