    What do tags do?
    Do they help when someone searches with in your website in the little search box?

    they do.

    IN general, they help organize your content.

    I think of categories like chapters in a book, and tags like the index. Chapters are large, general groupings of posts, tags provide more granular keyword sorting.

    Fo rinstance, on my DJ site, if I post anew mix, I post it in the Local DJ category, under the techno, live, and mix tags
