• Whenever I make a change to a table on a page, the revision does not show up on the visual page, nor does it save the html. Additionally, the table does not reflect much of the formatting that I initially assigned to it. I have tested the table in a text editor and opened in a browser and all the formatting is correct there, so I know the code is not the issue. It must be something inherent to WP.

The only thing I can think of is that I am running an outdated version of the software. Although it says I have the latest version on the updates page, it also says, “learn more about WordPress 3.8.1” a few lines below that.

Any guidance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

  • You should definitely upgrade to a more recent version of WordPress, but that’s beside the point.

It’s possible that the formatting you apply to the table is being overriden by other formatting somewhere else in the theme. That would explain why the table would look fine all by itself (in a text editor and then browser) but not anymore once it’s being shown as part of the theme.

Mark, thanks for the help. I’m not sure how to update to a more current version of WP since the update page says I have the most recent, and when I click on “re-install” or “download”, nothing happens.

In the meantime, I am going to look into the issue potentially stemming from theme limitations.
