In my website, i have variable products with many addons that user can choose from. The product is only useful if addons are selected. However while the variations get displayed on facebook, the addons do not get displayed on facebook which makes the user thinks that the prices are as per the variation and it seems to be quite deceiving. Please work towards displaying the product addons in the facebook shop. Another issue that i noticed is that the facebook tab in the product editor isnt visible for a variable product.

  • Hi @vmk0102,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

At this time, the ability to display product add-ons is not available in with the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin. This is a limitation of not only the plugin, but Facebook shops as well, I’m afraid.

I’m happy to log a feature request on your behalf. These are passed to our product team for review. I can’t guarantee that this will make it onto our development roadmap, as we base our product improvements on a number of factors, including how many times we receive a particular request.

Regarding the “Facebook” tab for variations, you are correct here. When choosing to create a variable product, the Facebook settings are moved into the individual variations instead of at the main product level.

Would you please let me know if this is helpful and if there’s anything else I can help with?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Hello marcus thank you for your reply, I would be very grateful if the addons option be added to the facebook shop because otherwise if we take this logically shops that often provide addons with there products won’t be able to use your plugin. At the moment the website i currently have this has 3 products that has addons. So likewise i believe there can be shops that may have more such products. So it’ll be helpful for many if the feature is implemented. 🙂

Also I saw a query that the plugin is not compatible with WordPress 5.5 and results in server error 500. Luckily I haven’t updated to 5.5 yet. It’d be great if the compatibility be made soon such incompatibility exists 🙂

I would like to thank you for your support and also for pointing out where the facebook tab goes for the variable products, I’ll surely check that out, Thank You :). Awaiting further response 🙂

    Hey @vmk0102,

Thank you for letting us know that this is important to you. You are certainly correct that there are others that have add-ons that would not sync. We’re working closely with Facebook to make this more reliable, feature-rich, and easy to use!

While some may have seen some errors with their upgrade to WordPress 5.5, I don’t believe that this is coming from our plugin. We have had a number of merchants upgrade their WordPress site without any issues – including most of our team as well.

Would you please let me know if this is helpful and if there’s anything else I can help with?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Thank You for your help Marcus, I would really appreciate if you can still check on the compatibility with the latest version of Woocommerce as well as WordPress, because i don’t want to risk updating wordpress and then breaking things on my website. Please get the compatibility checked properly so i and the others who use this plugin can greatly benefit from it.

    Thank You

    Hey @vmk0102,

Thanks again for following up here. I can confirm that we have not seen any issues with the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin directly related to updating to WordPress 5.5.

Feel free to update whenever you are ready. You can download the version 2.0 plugin here or wait for the official release which will happen very soon!

    Thanks,
    Marcus
