Hi @loengard,
It could be that the synchronization with CookieDatabase does not succeed on your environment because of some restriction that prevents it, therefore leaving those cookies as “unsynchronized”.
Do you happen to have any security measures/firewall in place that might result in the request to CookieDatabase being blocked?
I’ve just configured a new testing environment with the latest Complianz version, and I do not experience the issue; so the above explanation sounds the most likely.
Kind regards, Jarno
Thank you for the reply here. There are no firewalls running atm.
I checked the network during the request when I hit the “synchonize” button and what I can see is that admin ajax performs in order actions:
- action=cmplz_run_sync&restart=true
- action=cmplz_run_sync&restart=false
- action=cmplz_run_sync&restart=true
- action=cmplz_run_sync&restart=false
- action=cmplz_get_list&deleted=false&type=cookie
I am not sure if this helps? Is there a way to trigger a synchronization any other way? If not:
I think I’d like to remove Complianz and start from scratch. Sort of like a clean slate. Maybe there is some issue with “old” data from a previous test-installation on my site. So how do I best get rid of all complianz components, so that it is essentially unaware it was installed previously (ie. doesn’t remember any settings and the assistent really starts from scratch). It seems I need to do sort of a re-sync but don’t know how to properly initiate the process. Help would be apprecited for sure π I am unsure if providing my URL will help. Thank you in advance already!

Another idea: SInce I am running on the free version a prior sync might prevent a new one. Though I am unsure if that sync was done less than a week ago…
You can check that by clearing all cookies in the scan overview. Then scan again, then try the sync again.
The plugin checks the last updated date of each cookie, so if a cookie is cleared, and found again, this updated date is reset and it will sync.
Please also check if wp_debug is disabled. With debugging enabled we sometimes see issues with the sync.
I have no wp_debug enabled. I tried to clear all cookies and resync. I went the full way by resetting complianz via its settings, uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. Now when I enter the cookie scan complianz finds 0 plugins even though there should be at least the complianz cookies found (aside from wp login ones for me as admin). Yet nothing. I tried incognito scanning as well. Can you advise here please? Here is the URL maybe you can see something that is wrong: https://physiobernhardt.de

I have reason to believe it makes sense to start over as there seems to be something wrong with the core. I will reset the whole site and revisit security measures and hope it works after. For the time being I’d like to ask the mods to remove the URL above. Thank you so much for your support.
