• Hello, I’ve been experiencing an issue with this plugin for some time now when updating certain information and attributes on products related to Facebook fields. The fields are locked, and I can’t edit information like the brand, for example. Other fields are directly related to the WooCommerce product attributes, and there’s no problem even if the field is locked. However, in the case of the brand, it’s not an attribute and doesn’t sync with the WooCommerce brand itself. It’s simply the value it had initially, and now it can’t be edited.
I need to know how to edit the brand, as I’ve investigated both the Facebook and WooCommerce side and can’t find the source of the problem.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi, you can configure the brand of a product on WooCommerce by going to the “Edit Product” page -> “Product Data” section -> “Facebook” tab -> “Brand” field. The product data (including the brand) will be synced to Facebook Commerce Manager.

That’s exactly what you see in the screenshot, but the problem is that the brand field is locked and can’t be changed either there or on Facebook. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting to Facebook and deleting the catalog to use a new one, and the field remains locked and can’t be changed. So the problem is something else.

    Could you check the following:

    • Under “Product data” section -> “Attributes” tab, is there’s an attribute called brand? if so it will lock the brand field under the “Facebook” tab. You can unlock this field by removing the brand attribute from the “Attributes” tab.
    • If there’s no “Brand” attribute, can you go to “Marketing” -> “Facebook” -> “Attribute Mapping”, and see if there’s a WooCommerce attribute mapped to the Meta attribute “Brand”? If this attribute is selected in the product data, it will also lock the Brand field. Removing the mapped attribute will unlock it.

No, there’s no attribute called brand on my website, nor on any product. The attribute mapping doesn’t detect any attribute called brand either, because there isn’t one. WooCommerce does have brand management, which they recently implemented, since it didn’t before. However, the selected WooCommerce brand doesn’t match the value appearing in the Facebook brand field. I’ve tried modifying it everywhere, and it doesn’t sync. It seems to be a bug in the plugin itself that’s blocking some fields.

Thanks for checking. Could you please provide screenshots for the following:

    • the attributes tab under product data
    • the attribute mapping under Marketing -> Facebook
    • any brand configuration you may have for the product, e.g. the Woocommerce brand management feature which has been mentioned

I’m trying to reproduce the locked fields and seeing the above screenshots could make it easier to spot what could be leading to the field getting locked.

    • Here you have the tab product attributes tab
    • The attributes mapping under Facebook Marketing (theres only the product attributes, and there are no attribute named brand)
    • And the 2 default woocommerce fields dedicated to the brand with a different value (lower case) to the one appearing on Facebook config
