Sydney theme blank space

Hello, i´m trying to make my first homepage, using Sydney theme, but i´m unable to get rid of this ugly white space under menu and page content:(
been searching and i was trying to add some css codes using custom css, however nothing helped:(
anybody could give me a hand with this?
