• I have been having countless issues with my changes not going through and it has been making me look very bad to my clients. In the past I have always coded templates and I never posted articles…

I am now realizing that when I switch between visual and text editor I am losing attributes. Is this a common issue with wordpress TinyMCE? If so, why would they even allow users to switch between the two, and if I edit in the text editor and someone else comes in and edits with the visual editor, does that mean all my coding gets lost?

I find this too crazy to be true. It would be easy for wordpress to disable the visual or text editor depending on which one was used first, or at the least give a warning saying your changes will be lost if you switch…

Anyone else experience lost code from using the visual to text editor switch option?

  • This has always happened with WordPress as long as I can remember.

    According to WordPress,

    A Word Of Caution
Switching between Visual and Text view can cause some of your HTML entities to be lost. This is due, in part, to the manner in which TinyMCE handles your HTML. If formatting is very important, do not switch between views. If you’re writing a lot of code, we suggest you remain in the text editor.

There are numerous visual editor plugins that might be useful to you. As for me, I just disabled the visual editor tab from my profile page.

    Hope this helps!
