Suppressing the WordPress Contact Form Alert

    I’ve updated to the new version of Contact Form 5.1.

    Couple of questions:

    Is Google ReCaptcha V3 now an obligatory, built-in inclusion if using the Contact Form plug-in? Before, it was optional and I preferred this, leaving webmasters with the option to decide on what anti-spam measures they preferred to implement individually.

    Regardless of the effectiveness of V3 (which I’m yet to confirm), as a result of the upgrade, the Google ReCaptcha badge seems to appear in the bottom right corner of every single page in your website, with no obvious ‘official’ method of suppressing this. This is intrusive and annoying.

    If the Google ReCaptcha V3 obliges you to display this on all pages (even if your form is only used on one page out of 100) does this mean you either lump it or choose a different contact form plug-in? That’s a real shame, if so.

    Any comments or further advice most welcome.

    Also, is there any way of suppressing the alert notification to set up ReCaptcha V3 keys, even if you don’t want to use ReCaptcha?

    Or is it now obligatory to set up the V3 keys on every website using the Contact Form 7 plug-in?

    No. It’s still optional, of course.

    Thanks for confirming, Takayuki (and thanks for this super plug-in).

    It’s odd that some (but not all) of my websites are showing a WP notification to add V3 keys, even though I’m not using reCaptcha (no fields included in the forms). There’s no option to close or suppress the notification either.

    It puts an alert notification in the left sidebar on ‘Contact’ which is slightly annoying because it’s prompting for action, when no action is required.

    The warning of reCAPTCHA v2 to v3 update appears in the case that you have activated reCAPTCHA API keys in the previous versions, even if you don’t have a [recaptcha] form-tag in your forms or you just forget it.

    If you don’t want to see it, but you have no plan to activate v3 right now, click the Setup Integration button and just click the Save Changes button leaving both of the two field above blank.
