Support for external images

Can you add optional support for external images?
Sometimes I link a thumbnail from my blog post to a very big .png file hosted on another server and would be great if that too opens in lightbox.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
actually the plugin can already manage images from any origin, could you please link your page so I can see why the plugin doesn’t activate on your images?
Diego
I insert clickable screnshots in my posts pretty often.
I use KeyCDN and because of that, images have links such as:
http://mysite-9999.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/someimage.jpg?iv=24
instead of
http://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/someimage.jpgLightbox doesn’t work for those image links. Is there any solution ?
Ah.. .ok the problem is the parameter at the end of the url: ?iv=24 it’s not recognized as image.
I’ll fix it soon.
Diego
Fixed with 1.0.9
Hey, thanks for the update. But I’m not sure it works as it should, well, at least not for me..
A linkhttp://ow.ly/rKsb3065JrBWell, actually the plugin is fired when I click the image, but finally it goes to the media file.
Can you give me more informations about which active plugins you have and also the name of your theme?
Also please try to bypass cache manager and see if it changes something.I have the same duo (KeyCDN and Comet Cache Pro) on other websites but with other lightbox plugins and there are no such problems. So I think is something between your plugin and my setup..
plugin list-

On a another website of mine, your plugin works fine so I guess the problem is on that first site only.
The plugin list is pretty much the same. weirdThere would be some test to understand the reason of this behaviour:
1) try to deactivate at least these plugins:
Comet Cache Pro
Jetpack by WordPress.com2) if the problem persists try to switch to the default WordPress theme
3) if the problem persists try to deactivate all plugins one by one
I understand it’s not a funny procedure but it’s the only way we have to understand the issue.
Yep, after I did that your plugin now works.
But it’s weird, those 2 plugins are also installed on the other website were things are working fine.
I have enabled both plugins back and problem also came back :\
I need other 2 plugins too, hope you find the bugOK, so I joggled with those 2 plugins and the problem is with Comet Cache Pro.
I use that plugin on all my websites, works normal every time…Let the weird stuff continue.
I had Comet Cache removed and added other caching plugin Cache Enabler + CDN Enabler, and yes, problem is back. Now I have disabled CDN Enabler and let only Cache Enabler active.
The thing is I need to use both caching and CDN services.Sorry for all this 😐

I have disabled all plugins, enabled one by one and everything works OK until I enable CDN.
So lighbox plugin works now until I activate CDN Enabler, after that it doesn’t work not even for logged users. Also I have tested another lightbox plugin and same thing happens.-

Ok thank you very much for the detailed report, I’ll try to replicate on my devel setup, let’s see if I can understand the problem.

Me again 😀
I have enabled Jetpack’s Photon image CDN and the problem happens again, the lightbox is fired and then it redirects to image url. (even for logged admin)Also occurs using WP default themes.
