I’m delighted with your support of formulas, all that I need. But can I pull in data from other tables (e.g. via a csv file)into a drop down cell or refence data in another table via VLOOKUP?

No, sorry, the formula support does not offer such advanced features, but only basic math functions, see http://tablepress.org/tablepress-features-formulas/

You can load data from other tables by installing both the Single Cell Shortcode Extension from http://tablepress.org/extensions/table-cell-shortcode/ and the Shortcodes before Formulas Extension that is described here:
