I have been using WP File Manager for a couple of months now – and it is brilliant. Super-awesome. I built my own WP theme, specific to my needs, and this plugin has made the difference – genuinely. Heck, if this is the FREE version, what does the PRO version do?

    Hi @jordyn006 ,

Thank you so much for the kind words — that genuinely made our day! 😊

It’s great to hear the plugin has been such a valuable part of your custom theme setup!

Here’s what Pro adds on top of the free version:

    🔒 Access & Security

    • User role restrictions — control exactly who can do what
    • Private folder access per user
    • Frontend file manager with restricted access

    ⚡ Advanced Features

    • Frontend shortcode — embed file manager anywhere on your site
    • Code editor with syntax highlighting (edit PHP, CSS, JS directly)
    • Advanced file operations (bulk actions, archive/extract)
    • Email notifications for file activity
    • Activity logs and audit trail
    • Backup/restore functionality

Given that you’ve built your own custom theme, the code editor alone might be worth the upgrade — edit your theme files directly from the dashboard without FTP!

Feel free to ask any questions before deciding!

    Best regards,
    WP File Manager Pro
