• Hi, this is a really great and useful plugin, and I especially like the fact that it works with custom post types too!

May I make a couple of suggestions or requests for your consideration?

Firstly, I’d prefer to see the GB Search and Replace side menu entry moved inside “Tools”, as a submenu there, rather than where it currently resides up next to the Posts menu. For me, the section of menu items up the top there should be used for posts, pages, and other custom post types, but not for an admin “tool” like this plugin. It fits best as a submenu inside “Tools”. Perhaps you can at least add this as an option, so that administrators can choose where the menu is located?

I’d also request renaming the menu item to just “Search & Replace” so it’s not so long (it can still keep the “GB” part on the Plugins page). That way it won’t wrap over two lines as it currently does in the side menu – which looks a bit unsightly. 🙂

Secondly, when I go to the Search & Replace page, I have a good 11 items listed in the “Search in” panel on the left there. But the panel isn’t tall enough to fit them all and so I get an annoying scrollbar. Could you make that panel taller so it fits more inside it without needing a scrollbar? There’s certainly plenty of extra room on the page underneath for it to fit.

I would also suggest changing the “Go” button to say “Search”, so it’s more clear that this button only searches and doesn’t actually replace anything.

Lastly, it would be handy to have links added for each item that is found after clicking “Go”, which take you to the Edit page of that item. Eg. if the search results give me one of my Posts then I should be able to click on “Edit” to go to the regular edit page of that post. And also a “View” link to view that post in the browser (new tab) from the front end. Likewise for pages and other custom post types.

    Hope that’s helpful! 🙂
