Subsites don't show 404 with default permalink

    My WordPress Multisite installation is set up to use subfolders. I have the permalink settings set to default. The issue is that if you add any extra characters to the URL after the subsite’s name, it redirects to subsite with a 200.

    Example:

    Bad URL redirects to the siteurl()

    If I change the permalink settings to anything else, I get the 404 page. I’ve replicated this on multiple themes, and installations.

    Any ideas?
