There seems to be a connection error between your site and our servers at WordPress.com.

Can you try disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack to your WordPress.com account? To disconnect/reconnect Jetpack, go to Jetpack -> Jetpack in your site’s dashboard. Scroll down to the footer of that page to find the “Disconnect from WordPress.com” link as shown here: http://d.pr/i/10QE . Click that, then reconnect to WordPress.com when you see the button to do so.

If that doesn’t work, please contact your webhost and see if they are blocking requests to your site’s xmlrpc.php file, which is needed for your site to communicate with our servers.

Let me know if you still have this problem after following those steps and I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    Thanks Carolyn.

I disconnected and reconnected several times. No change. It states that it is connected. I contacted the hosting company and they do not restrict access to that file. They also checked the subscription widget and everything looks fine on this end. I tried to add a new email follower and now it is not sending the confirmation email to add the email (it used to do that).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks for confirming!

Can you check in Settings -> General in your site’s dashboard and check to see your WordPress URL and Site URL are both set to “https://myhockeyradar.com”?

If not, please disconnect Jetpack, update those URLs to reflect https and connect again. Then I’ll be able to check the connection on our end.

Once we get the connection sorted out, subscriptions will start working again.

Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, I’ll wait to hear back from you!

    That was it. Thanks.

The URL had http, but the WordPress URL was https.
I’ll outline what I did in case it can help others.
I could not change it from the Settings/General page because it would redirect me to the Godaddy domain manager. The Godaddy domain manager would only allow me to enter the site name and not the prefix “https”. I had to go into the WordPress database itself and manually edit it in two places (one for the “home” and one for the site).

    Thanks.

Great! I don’t show any connection errors on our end anymore, so that should fix the subscription issue.

Let me know if your next post isn’t sent out to your subscribers and I’ll be happy to look into this further.
