Subscriptions and subscription access

Do I need to buy WooCommerce Subscriptions to set up subscriptions? If so, can a subscriptions be set up to grant paid customers access to certain pages on a website and then when the subscription expires the access is locked? and is their a trial version available?
My other questions is say a mentor is a product and I want that product to have two subscription types (ability to access a form on the site to ask questions to a mentor – one month subscription) and the (ability to video conference a mentor – for two months), does this require the mentor to be set up twice (as two different products) or is it a matter of setting up as one product and configuring two different subscription buttons which can be added to the product?
