    Hi,

    I am getting loads of subscribers with strange emails and names that aren’t related to the email. They don’t look genuine.
    I’ve looked through similar posts but can’t seem to find out if they are a threat.
    Can anybody help please?

    They’re probably spam registrations. Spam bots will sign up for anything. If you do not need people joining your site, then I’d suggest that you stop allowing random registrations by unchecking “Anyone can register” in Settings -> General.

    I do want subscribers though just not spammers. Can these spambots cause harm?

    Only in terms of bloating your database and making the management of real subscribers somewhat unwieldy.
