    I installed the latest Subscribe2 widget but when I tested it I discovered that in the email notification it sends out the link isn’t hyperlinked (see below) and so one has to copy and paste the address into a browser. Not good for potential subscribers who might easily be stymied. Is there a way to fix this? Can I amend the code to sort this out?

    The email (in part):

    BAD EGG has received a request to subscribe for this email address. To complete your request please click on the link below:

    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Note that while WP forum has automatically hyperlinked the link, the email via Subscribe2 doesn’t.

    @michelle,

    The link email is sent as plain text to reduce the risk of it being tagged as spam. To make the link a click enabled link in all email clients the email would need to be sent in HTML which would increase the spam risk.

    Also, what you report is email client specific. Some email client software will recognise web page links and make the clickable, others won’t.

    To change this you’d have to make code changes to the plugin.

    Hi MattyRob:

    Thanks for this. Interestingly enough, I changed my email notifications to HTML from Plain Text and unwittingly solved the problem. Now I understand how and why. Much obliged.
