subheadings not recognised

    Under readability it is coming up as having no subheadings but I have plenty. I am using Avada and have the headings in a title box element, using H2. Is it a problem to have them in the title box? This helps me to space them better. Also, this article is ranked 0 on the Flesch reading scale which I don’t understand. One of my articles is 54, and the writing seems similar. My site is not launched to the public yet as I am just getting started so I don’t know if that means the link will work. Thank you.

    Hello @kirstenkerr5!

    The Yoast SEO plugin only analyses the default WordPress content areas. It does not recognize content that is outside of the main content box of a page or post. If you are adding your content using custom fields or other plugin/theme content boxes, widgets, including page builders and visual composers, our plugin might not be able to detect it by default.

    In the past, we have tried to parse shortcodes and other content boxes with inferior results. Therefore, we opted to provide plugin and theme developers with an API that they can use to pass their content to our page analysis.

    If you are using a plugin or theme that doesn’t send their content to our page analysis, please reach out to the developer and ask them about adding the functionality to their code. This KB article will help them with the implementation.

    With that being said, while our plugin isn’t able to detect all your text blocks and shows an incorrect analysis report, this doesn’t mean that search engines won’t be able to parse them. Our content analysis is to validate the content of your website and doesn’t really affect how search engines crawl and index your site.

    Thank you so much for your reply. I am very new at this so can I just clarify a couple of things. So within the edit post page, I am using title elements alternated with text block elements. So will Yoast not identify the titles as titles, even though I am using H2 for them? Also, just clarifying, are you saying that the red/orange/green rating I get is only for my information and the actual rating doesn’t affect the search optimisation? I appreciate the advice.

    If you’re using the Avada-specific title element, the Yoast SEO plugin won’t be able to recognize that.

    red/orange/green rating I get is only for my information
    Correct. As long as you know you have added the right content like heading, internal links, images, etc., so will Google. Google will still be able to scan the source code of the page.
