• Hello
Recently I registered a new domain and changed the name servers to point to my existing http://www.xyz.com, running WordPress 4.2.2. I can see this new domain under the parent as a subdomain when I login to Cpanel.
I want to have the new domain to display the same pages that my parent site has (want to keep both separate though) for the most part. When I installed WP 4.2.2 on this new domain using One Click install, it works as a WP site ( with Hello world etc.) and then when I copied all the files from my parent site/public_html to the new domain to make it like the parent site, all I am seeing now is a blank page. I have installed WP on the new domain.com and not on any sub folder. The new domain’s folder is under the public_html folder of my parent site. Really appreciate your help in getting this resolved.

  • Hi,

When you move WordPress website from one domain to another domain there are additional concerns need to be taken care. Just copying WordPress installation files wont work.

When you move files and database, references to the old domain name or location will remain in the database, and that can cause issues with links or theme display.

Moving/copying a WordPress web site is quite well documented at following URL:

    Thanks,

Thank you for the response. I have copied all the files and was expecting the new one to display at least the old site as is.
