subdomains or subdirectories with language recognition?

Hello folks,

this is my first post on the forum and I hope it is on the appropriate section (if not, moderators feel free to move it to the appropriate one).

I am building a little website for my girlfriend’s health campaign and I would like to have it in 3 languages, English, Italian and Spanish.

Right now I am developing it in English only and I am halfway through.

I will briefly explain what I want to achieve.

1) To begin with I would like to have the website translated in those 3 languages, and each one would fall under either it’s language subdomain or subdirectory, for instance en.campaign.com, es.campaign.com, it.campaign.com, or campaign.com/en/, campaign.com/es/, campaign.com/it/.

2) I would love that wordpress would somehow recognize the visitors IP’s and direct them to the appropriate language subfolder or subdomain, at least for Spanish and Italian. IP’s from any other country would be directed to the English subfolder.

Any idea on how I could have this done? I am not an Web guru, I do apologize for the noob questions.
