Is there a plugin that can create extra fields to be filled in for the post title? An example:

Sub title: School Grades Reach an All Time High
Main title: Exams Results Are In

So I basically want a witty, or eye catching title and then a main title of what the topic is about. This I think would be useful for zines/community information sites and in my case a reviews site.

The category slug would be taken from the Main title rather than the sub (which is why I flipped them that way), and this would work without modifying the core, but rather through a plugin that throws in the extra field.

    Is there something like this?

    Thanks in advance

How about using a custom field for that?

I’ve been thinking about that, but I’m not sure how that would work exactly.

I would have add the custom field and select it each time. Plus the thing is at the bottom of the page so most authors would just hit publish.

The thing I don’t like about custom fields is you have to select it each time – by default I think custom fields are usually required rather than not required and there should be some sort of checkbox to have it on for all posts or to have it off. It’s a bit mess right now

Jinsan, I want to do something similar as well, and have spent a long time looking – guess what I just found…. http://wp-plugins.net/plugin/rc-custom-field-gui/ !!!

    Sweet!
