I created a custom style solely for the purpose of changing the text of the custom menu items that the plug-in can add for logging in and out of forums and for editing one’s profile. Unfortunately, the style can’t address the text of the menu link because it applies to the entire menu item, not just the text.

If I add custom CSS to my child theme to address the underlying style of custom menu items, it will change other elements that my theme supports. In my case, those elements consist of Font Awesome icons that provide links to three social media accounts.

    Any suggestions?

BBPress 2.5.12, WP 4.7.1, bbp Style Pack3.4.4, running locally under MAMP 1.9.6 with PHP version 5.3.5. I’m using a child theme based on GeneratePress 1.2.41 with version 1.2.92 of the GeneratePress Premium plug-in.

Adding a clarification: I meant to say that “I created a custom style solely for the purpose of changing the color of the text of the custom menu items that the plug-in can add for logging in and out of forums and for editing one’s profile.”

given that this is running on a mamp server, it is hard for me to help, as you cannot link me to a site showing this.

Not quite sure how I can help you.

PS Are you trying to get the menu items to be the same as the general menu items, or different?

I was trying to make the log-in and profile links different from the rest of the menu items. My standard items appear in white type. For contrast purposes, I wanted to use yellow on the two custom items.

so if you set a custom css class in

dashboard>settings>bbp style pack>login and set up custom css classes, do these not work?
