There’s probably a super easy solution to this but I just can’t find it. How would I make it so different content types (like custom post types) are styled differently on the main page?

For example I have my main page listing regular posts, reviews, and quotes. The reviews and quotes are custom post types that each I want to show up differently than posts. For example I don’t want the typical meta stuff (posted on, in category, etc.) on either of them but do want it on posts.

You could do this by using custom page templates:

That doesn’t seem like it’d do what I’m talking about. I want all this to show on my main index.php, I’m not looking to style individual pages, I’m looking to show different post types differently on one page using the loop output.

Oh, then you can use conditionals that test posts by type. For example, inside your loop, you could test for the post type first:
```
if( get_post_type() == 'quotes' ) {

/* your quote-specific styles here */

} elseif ( get_post_type() == 'reviews' ) {

/* your reviews-specific styles here */

} else {

/* your standard post style here */
}
```
etc. You can use conditionals throughout your loop.
