Stylesheet issue with 2 installs

    I have a WordPress site running at root level and then another one with the same theme running in a subdirectory. The problem is the one running in the subdirectory is taking on the styling of the root site, even when I change the stylesheet of the subdirectory site.

    I’ve checked the source code and it’s accessing the correct stylesheet but I can’t style it!

    Any ideas?

    What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

    It’s a bespoke theme that I created.

    In that case, you need to start working backwards through your theme templates to locate & correct each issue that the validator has highlighted. I’m afraid there is no quick and easy way to sort these issues out.

    I am so sorry! I got my browser tabs confused. Please ignore that last post of mine.

    Have you run the theme through the theme checker plugin?

    Yes, run through Theme Check and nothing was found.

    What I can’t understand is there’s no reference to the root stylesheet in the subdirectory theme.

    The only way I can get around it is by calling the theme in the subdirectory something different, which I can do, but find it weird why this is happening.

    Are you saving any theme options to the database?

    No, just downloaded the DB to check where the references for the theme are and they are all referencing the subdirectory theme. All very strange a little frustrating.
