    I’m here to let you know I detest how you added “Liquid Web” to any WordPress admin menu – right under Dashboard. It’s in your face, it’s awful. Don’t ever do this. I hate this.

  • Yeah, I jumped out of my skin for a moment thinking my site had been hacked. Also makes me worried they are going to start reducing the amount of features in the free version after the acquisition.

    @jeroenrotty @kipi Thank you for the feedback on this, those are really good points.

    There is no need for the language around this wasn’t so aggressive.

    Our team is considering bringing it to a better spot in the menu and give options to change it’s behavior.

    Our goal with that was to create an experience for our Products that would enable you to see it all in a consolidated view with the features highlighted.

    @kipi we are actually doing this to enable us to increase the number of free features.

    Hey @bordoni,

    My bad for my language. Apologies. It was straight from disappointment the moment I saw the menu item pop up. Just in general, for any free of paid plugin in our ecosystem. Settings or licenses should be kept inside the plugin. Not a sudden extra main menu item right under “Dashboard”. Keep in mind, this product has been around for years, users might not even know about Nexcess or Liquid Web – having this popping up can cause so much friction.

    Please, from the bottom of my heart, reconsider doing this all within your own plugin menu structure and NOT outside.

    EDIT: Our team is considering bringing it to a better spot in the menu and give options to change it’s behavior.

    Thank you!

    Can someone explain why it is there? Who put it there? Why was it put there? I just recovered a client site after a hack and now I see this? Back to recovering the account. Not happy!!!

    This is absolute garbage, and the way it’s implemented is specifically designed to make it extremely difficult for a developer to remove, and impossible for a regular user. It looks like my site got hacked or someone moved it without authorization or there’s a rogue plugin, all of which should be an eternal black mark on your brand.

    I’m looking for alternatives to all of LW’s products (Kadence, Event Calendar, Solid Security) because if this idea made it through your company’s approval structure I can’t imagine any of your software isn’t going to become completely worthless within a few months.

    And this level of vitriol is absolutely warranted. Your company made a stupid, technically ill-informed decision that will push customers away. You should release 6.16.1 to strip this trash back out before you destroy yourselves. If you don’t, you deserve to see your customers fleeing to your competitors. Especially when PAID customers cannot remove this.

    And Liquid Web support is crickets. WTF?! WHo authorized this?!

    I see what happened, LW is trashing The Events Calendar plugin line. Glad I found out before I was supposed to renew later this month. Time to find a better comoany, one that does not hack its clients sites. Now, how do i get rid of this obtrusive, rude dashboard install @bordoni?

    @jsm116 Thank you for your feedback on this. As I mentioned above, we are working to make that better for everyone involved.

    @stevefry77 did you contact our support team? When? I am glad to help, but the team is already reaching out to customers.

    @jeroenrotty Thank you for understanding. We will figure out a way to make sure that it’s not as intrusive and give you some options, as we want to have a unified place for all of our Products to be aggregated around, but if you only have one of the products, it shouldn’t be a separate menu at all, really good points.

    We were so focused on delivering this new approach that we didn’t land on the best experience for you across the menu location.

    StellarWP had many products, and we wanted to focus our efforts on delivering the best value, but there is an enormous amount of work.

    @bordoni Thank you for contacting Liquid Web! Connecting you now… message for the last 30 minutes. How do I remove it? I did not ask for it or want it!

    @bordoni The only way to make it better is to make it go away. Smearing your brand in a way that can’t be removed or hidden and scares the hell out of users is only going to drive business away. I’m actively communicating with my dev team about replacement options for all of your software and in this world remember that once someone leaves, they don’t come back.

    @jsm116 Same. I was set to renew some agency services in two weeks. I will be replacing all instances.

    @bordoni Hours later support answered. They have no answer. I’m now left explaining to my client that a company we don’t use installed software (malware?) on their site, and that what I charge them for security is justified. Liquid Web needs to take their malware and go away! HOW DO I GET RID OF IT?!

    Same discussion also in the Kadence Blocks support forum. One thread was already removed there. Not a good sign and possibly time to check for alternatives. Sad.

    the final word form Liquid Web support: Unfortunately, I am unable to help you further. With that, I would have to close this chat. Hope you have a good day.

    Hack and run, the Liquid Web Way. Losers

    To get rid of the unwanted sales page from Liquid Web, I created a snipet, set to only run on admin page. Now I am off to give some concessions to my client to hopefully keep them after this unwanted obtrusion into their website:

    add_action(‘admin_menu’, function () {
    remove_menu_page(‘lw-software-manager’);
    }, 999);
