Hey there, so I’m installing WordPress to my site with FileZilla, I’ve uploaded all the files correctly, but I’m stuck at “Step 5: Run the Install Script.” When I go to http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php (replacing example with my site’s name) I just get an “Oops! This link appears to be broken.” page. Is there anything I could have missed?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you sure that you’ve uploaded the files to the right directory? You may have to contact your hosting provider.

Hmm, I’m not so sure anymore.
    Here’s a screenshot of what I see, http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/8514/wordpresss.png

you’ll have to forgive me as I’m pretty new at this, I need to upload it to the root directory; would highlighting all the files on the left hand side and then just right-clicking and going “upload” be okay? Or is there a specific area I need to drag them to or something? Sorry I know next to nothing, haha.

Yeah, that’s the problem. You need to upload all of the files to the public_html directory.

I’m not about specific directions for your FTP client, but I’d assume that you could just drag and drop the files.

Hmm, that fixed the getting a blank page but now I get ‘Error establishing a database connection’.

I’ll try a few things to fix that and come back if I can’t. Thanks for your help 🙂

Just deleted and re-uploaded the files, worked perfectly.
    Thank you!
