Hi Rene, thank you for your response, I have emailed that email address now.
First attempt to use WP Staging and am also stuck. First try: Cloning got stuck on step 3. Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ha1r1a10d81edhi/wpstagingfrozen.PNG?dl=0
Read that I should turn on the optimizer. Did so. Second try: Cloning went farther but got stuck here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/55izk4okah3hn8b/wpstagingfrozenwithoptimizerOn.PNG?dl=0
Please help. I am not willing to purchase your product until I see that it works. Thanks, Jane
Hello Jane,
@janecarole Can you send me the system info log from wp staging > tools > system info to support [at] wp-staging.com
It’s also helpful if you enable the wordpress debug log, try it again and then send me the debug.log.
Please read this to learn how to activate the debug log:
https://wp-staging.com/docs/enable-wordpress-debug-log-mode/
FYI I am not a developer, just a WordPress user for about a year. Read somewhere to turn on developer tools and look at the console for errors. These are the last few lines that show on the developer tools console before the cloning stops. The lines that begin with HTML are warnings. The line after starting cloning process is an error. Again, thanks for any help you can give me.

Just saw your response after I posted the above. I’ll do what you asked! Thank you for your quick response!

I emailed the system info log to you.
Concerning using wordpress debug: I have never edited a php file. I am not sure about how to do so, and even if I can figure it out, I am nervous about doing this on my live site. I understood from the codex document that running wordpress debug on a live site was not recommended … The reason I am trying to set up a staging site is to avoid live site issues … Is there something else I can do that is easier for a novice?
