    Hi,

I Added a new form, gave it a name and then selected Create a blank form, and then WPForms hijacks my whole WP screen (Is that really necessary?) and just displays a rotating gear and “Loading”.

Since WPForms hijacks my whole screen and I cannot see any of the WP GUI at all, my only choice is to hit the Back button of my browser but that still keeps me stuck on the rotating gear and “Loading” screen.

Luckily I have my site open in multiple tabs so I can switch to another tab to get back to WP admin screen, but it seems that if I had not had other tabs open to my site, I would have lost complete access to my site.

  • Hi @wpfan1000,

When you edit the form, it opens the form builder which fills the entire screen. However, you should be able to easily exit from the form builder by clicking on the exit button and it should redirect you back to the WordPress admin. Please check this screenshot for reference.

If you’re only seeing a gear icon that loads endlessly while opening the form builder, there might be a JavaScript error on your site that is causing the issue.

When you get the chance, could you please try using the steps in WPBeginner’s detailed guide on troubleshooting WordPress to see if it helps resolve the issue?

That’s not the issue, as I mentioned, all that WPForms shows is a rotating gear and “Loading”.

I looked at that article, and it includes doing a full backup of the site, etc. It is many hours of work. I am not willing to put in hours of work to try and debug a WPForms issue.

    Also that artcile says:

Beginner’s Guide to Troubleshooting WordPress Errors (Step by Step)

So it is not even an article about troubleshooting the particular issue I have. So again, I am not willing to follow an article that is not specifically about resolving my issue.

I think WPForms could do a lot better then suggest this massive amount of work that is not specific to resolving the issue.

If you’re only seeing a gear icon that loads endlessly while opening the form builder, there might be a JavaScript error on your site that is causing the issue.

If you feel it is a js issue, then how about suggesting some troubleshooting for a js issue, not suggesting a day’s work to troubleshoot WP issues in general, that may or may not address this issue.

But this is an intermittent issue, I can get around it by various ways.

    Hi @wpfan1000,

Since we’re not able to access your setup, the most we can provide is the possible steps to troubleshoot your setup which are in the article that was previously shared.

Usually when there is a Javascript error, it is caused by a theme or plugin conflict which mentioned in the guide.

You may use this guide also to check for JS errors on your site.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

The first things I tried was to use another browser and this fixed the issue.

It was likely that my original browser did not allow all the js that was needed.

Thanks for mentioning js – this is what made me try another browser and this resolved the issue.
