• I keep getting emails telling me that “Your site has 1 broken connection”. It seems to be a stuck Facebook connection. It shows as connected in the dashboard but is broken, I have already removed Jetpack from Facebook’s Business Integrations, and the disconnect button throws an “Error disconnecting account – Something went wrong” error. The AI WordPress help could not give me help that worked and suggested I come to the Forum here. Can someone help me – I don’t have any hair on my head to tear out.

    Hi there, @ludwigkeck,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble, but thanks for reaching out.

I checked your site, and I can see that Jetpack struggles to connect to the related WordPress.com account. That might explain why Facebook isn’t able to connect, as well.

Let’s reconnect Jetpack, and will see if that addresses also the Facebook connection – worse case scenario, a solid connection will help troubleshoot this problem.

To start with the connection restore, please try cycling the Jetpack connection by deactivating Jetpack in your wp-admin dashboard at Plugins > Installed Plugins and then reactivating it and connecting to WordPress.com again.

More info on how to do that can be found here:
    https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/

Let me know how you go, and we’ll check everything again for you.
Thanks for sorting this out with us!

    Hi there, @ludwigkeck,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

I tried but did not succeed in resolving the problem. Don’t know if it is Facebook or WordPress – neither attempt helped.

    Howdy @ludwigkeck,

Your Jetpack plugin is connected, but your WordPress.com account isn’t linked as the site owner. This is why the Facebook connection is stuck and won’t let you disconnect it. Without an owner account connected, Jetpack Social can’t properly manage the social media connections – and the Jetpack connection is still broken.

    Here’s how to fix it:

    1. Go to your site’s WP Admin dashboard
    2. Navigate to Jetpack → Dashboard (or Jetpack → My Jetpack)
    3. You should see a prompt to connect your WordPress.com account, or there may be a banner indicating the connection needs attention
    4. Click through to complete the connection, signing in with your WordPress.com account

Once your WordPress.com account is connected as the site owner, head to Jetpack → Social and try disconnecting that stuck Facebook connection again. It should work this time.

After disconnecting, you can reconnect Facebook fresh by following the steps here: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-social/facebook/

You can also reach us directly for faster, private support if you’d prefer, using this contact form.

Just mention this forum thread when you do and we’ll pick up right where we left off.

    Thank you, Josh,

I could not find the way to connect – or disconnect – my WordPress.com account in Jetpack at cafeludwig.com. None of the settings show it. Nor anywhere else.

Over in Facebook I can’t find the settings you referred to. The support page is not helpful at all.

Hi @ludwigkeck, you’ll see the option under Jetpack > My Jetpack at https://cafeludwig.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=my-jetpack#/overview

    Jetpack

Thanks for the feedback support page, sorry for the frustration. Here are the sections you’ll want to try:

    1. Reset the Facebook connection
    2. Reconnect Facebook

If you run into a blocker, please tell us more about the step where you’re stuck or share a screenshot. Thanks.
