Strip HTML comments…is it safe?

    Hello,

    In the settings I see the option to “Remove extra elements from the generated page source” Strip HTML comments. I’m unsure what this exactly means or does and if it’s safe to do without breaking my site. I don’t see any further explanation on this and I’ve also searched the forums.

    @multimastery this feature which strips the comments that are enclosed between <!-- and --> (except the Internet Explorer conditional ones). Some users have lots of comments (e.g. added for development purposes, explanatory reasons for specific elements) and prefer to clean up the resulting HTML generated for the website visitors by removing those comments.
