• Hi,

I’ve just transferred one of my websites over to https:// and I probably wouldn’t have even noticed this if it were not for the ‘whynopadlock’ website, but theres a strange url in there, not affecting the SSL certificate, but just being generally annoying.

    http://loganlist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/negotiable.png

…is the offending file, and as you can see, it’s not even in a WP directory, not in any image file, un-findable in my website files.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem?

  • loganlist.com is defunct website. I suppose the link was just loading some tiny picture from there. Where did you find that link?
If you’re using some custom made theme probably author used it to make a backlink to some site.
Anyway you can safely remove that link.

Yes it’s an old image link from a classifieds website, made back in 2013-ish.

Hey, I really wish I COULD remove the link, but we cannot find the link to remove it anywhere!

Just so long as it’s not going to flag up as suspicious content was our main concern, and if it’s just from a defunct website, it should be ok to leave it.

You can try to access the url and you’ll see by yourself. 🙂 And if it is not encoded in some way, it should show up somewhere in your theme files. You can use a tool like Grep, download all the files from /wp-content/themes/your_active_theme to your hard drive and then search for it.
