Hi all. For about a month now our school site http://www.limavadyhigh.co.uk has been randomly generating an Internal Server Error to computers connected to our in-school network, which has frequently left me puzzled. Recently it’s also been present on a normal internet connection and/or my iPhone. I don’t have a clue what the problem is and there doesn’t seem to be any issues in the error log. I’ve disabled plugins on the WordPress site but that doesn’t seem to help – the site sometimes shows and sometimes doesn’t. When it doesn’t the following error appears:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, email@example.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.13 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/126.96.36.19935 PHP/5.2.10 Server at http://www.limavadyhigh.co.uk Port 80
When the issue occurs I can’t get access to FTP or cPanel. From what I see File Permissions are fine, and the HTACCESS file is good. I’ve reinstalled WP a couple of times incase it was a dodgy installation to no avail.
Any ideas on what this could be, or how to fix it? I’ve followed the instructions from other similar posts but nothing has worked. Once it comes back online I’ll paste the Error Log.
